Hello from Muhadesa Ali!

My name is Muhadesa Ali. I am a senior in Queens College. I am a double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology and also double minoring in Health Science and Biology. I am a member of HMNS and have been working with Dr. Cherice Evans for about a year now. She’s a wonderful professor and research instructor and I have learned so much from her. The reason why I took on research with her was because she’s a wonderful instructor to work with and she really helps her students when they need help. I am also pursuing medicine and so with this research it will help me gain the fundamental background needed to see what the world of medicine looks like in the lens of research. My research topic is studying the benefits of yoga, Tai chi, and meditations as a function of time to exam. I would monitor brainwaves, heart rate and body temperature during the time between practice and exam, and then during the exam. I cannot wait to see where this study takes me in the better understanding of our brains.
